Dublin City Council (DCC) have begun a phase 1 pilot with Irish technology firm Good Travel Software (GTS) to improve DCC’s car and bike sharing services for staff at its Wood Quay headquarters. The pilot aims to reduce the number of employees taking cars to work by making it incredibly easy for staff to book shared vehicles, via their mobile phone, for the short cross-city trips that are typically required by DCC staff. This will lead to a reduction in congestion and parking requirements at DCC’s offices. During the pilot phase, it is planned to engage with other DCC facilities and other large employers across Dublin with the aim of reducing the overall levels of congestion and parking problems in the city.
